The Third Workshop of the System Innovation Labs held 

Today, on February 28, 2025, the third workshop of the Systemic Innovation Lab was held at the Republic Institute for Social Protection in Belgrade premises as part of the Caring Communities project. The Network of Organizations for Children of Serbia (MODS) and the Republic Institute for Social Protection (RZSZ) organized the workshop with representatives from civil society organizations, institutions, and the expert community.

The Caring Communities project aims to improve the quality of life for people needing continuous and long-term care and support by building innovation capacities and fostering collaboration between various stakeholders.

About the Workshop

The third workshop of the Systemic Innovation Lab focused on defining sustainable financing models for social protection services. Participants analyzed the current financing system in Serbia, identified key challenges, and proposed innovative approaches to enhance its stability. Through interactive group discussions and hands-on activities, concrete ideas for improving financing models were developed, which will be further explored within the project.

Key segments of the workshop included:

  • Presentation of social protection service financing models
  • Discussion on desirable changes in the financing system
  • Development and evaluation of innovative ideas through group work
  • Plenary discussion and reflection on proposed solutions

The project “Caring Communities – Transnational Approaches for Multiple Transformative Changes in Home Care and Community Development in the Danube Region” is supported under the transnational cooperation program for the Danube region and includes 25 partners from 9 Danube region countries from January 2024 to June 2026.
