Regional Meet-up successfully held in Serbia: MODS hosts organizations from the region

From September 17 to 19, the Network of Organizations for Children of Serbia (MODS) hosted a regional meet-up in Serbia with representatives from Different & Equal (Albania) and the Astra Foundation (Armenia). The main theme of the meet-up was the protection of children from sexual exploitation and abuse. This event was part of Ignite Philanthropy’s initiative to to connect partners and strengthen collaboration among organizations working to address this global issue and improve children’s and youth’s lives.

On our first working day in Belgrade, we visited organizations that significantly impact the community: Bibija—Roma Women’s Center, NGO Atina with Centar GRiG, and PIN—Psychosocial Innovation Network. We also enjoyed a delicious break at Bagel Бејгл, a social enterprise founded by NGO Atina.

The second day of the meet-up took us to Novi Sad, where we visited the Center for Missing and Abused Children (CNZD) with our guests from Albania and Armenia. In addition to learning about the Center’s work, we had the opportunity to hear presentations from other impactful organizations, including the Know How Center (CPZV), Play Center Novi Sad, the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization, and the Youth Shelter of the City of Novi Sad. They provided us with valuable insights into their efforts to combat child sexual abuse and their contributions to the local community.

We are grateful to Ignite Philanthropy for their generous support of this important event, which enabled knowledge sharing and strengthened regional partnerships.

MODS remains dedicated to improving the lives of children and youth through collaboration with like-minded organizations, with a special focus on protecting children from sexual exploitation and abuse.
