INNOVATION IN THE EUROPEAN HOME CARE SECTOR
CLOSING EVENT OF THE D-CARE LABS INTERREG PROJECT

Our international program „D-Care Labs“ is coming to an end. Since the start of the EU project in 2020, nine regional innovation labs “D-Care Labs” have been established in different countries of the Danube Region. The D-Care Labs provide the space and professional support needed to come up with new solutions to persistent challenges in the home care sector. About 250 social innovators (from e.g., social service providers, public institutions, volunteering initiatives, and social start-ups) were able to pilot test the innovation programs and develop 43 new home care solutions for care-dependent older persons, people with disabilities and children with special needs and their caring relatives.
The closing event will feature presentations of the main project achievements, including examples of the nationally developed innovations, and promote dialogue between practitioners, policymakers, the public and other stakeholders on the importance of social innovation in-home care and community-based services.
