{"id":3190,"date":"2018-03-25T07:40:24","date_gmt":"2018-03-25T07:40:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zadecu.org\/en\/?p=3190"},"modified":"2018-06-06T08:02:09","modified_gmt":"2018-06-06T08:02:09","slug":"youth-engagement-in-the-danube-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zadecu.org\/en\/youth-engagement-in-the-danube-region\/","title":{"rendered":"MODS at the conference \u201cYouth Engagement in the Danube Region\u201d in Stuttgart"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On 23 March 2018, a conference \u201cYouth Engagement in the Danube Region\u201d was organized in Stuttgart, gathering partners and associates of the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.agapedia.ro\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">foundation Agapedia<\/a><\/span>, as a part of the implementation of the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a class=\"praxis_download_here\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.danube-region.eu\/about\" target=\"_blank\">EU Strategy for the Danube Region<\/a><\/span>. The conference gathered the Minister for Education of the Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg region, Germany, as well as the representatives of organizations and institutions from the countries in the Danube Region.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a class=\"praxis_download_here\" style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/zadecu.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">Network of Organizations for Children of Serbia &#8211; MODS<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>was represented by Sasa Stefanovic, Director of MODS, Jasmina Mikovic from Praxis who is the President of the Steering Committee of MODS and Aleksandra Grubin, Project Manager from SOS Children\u2019s Villages in Serbia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Since the beginning of the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), there have been many efforts to deepen cross-border youth cooperation between the Black Forest and the Black Sea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A multitude of initiatives and networks have for many years successfully brought together young people across all 14 countries of the Danube region; enabling cross-cultural exchange on issues as diverse as environmental protection, language learning, the future of the European Union or the challenges posed by digitalization. Yet, many initiatives are project-based and have only limited awareness of other undertakings. The Danube Strategy in itself provides only limited support in this particular field.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3192 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/zadecu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/2-600x362.png\" alt=\"2\" width=\"600\" height=\"362\" srcset=\"https:\/\/zadecu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/2-600x362.png 600w, https:\/\/zadecu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/2-768x463.png 768w, https:\/\/zadecu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/2-1024x618.png 1024w, https:\/\/zadecu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/2-810x489.png 810w, https:\/\/zadecu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/2.png 1084w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the past, there have been several attempts to create more stable framework conditions and networks. The emergence of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rycowb.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO)<\/a> as part of the so-called Berlin Process to improve cooperation among Western Balkan countries and the European Union marks an important milestone in this regard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The first part of the programme provided an overview of the existing structures and networks, mapping the field of youth cooperation in the Danube Region. For the second part of the dialogue, stakeholders, experts and project practitioners from civil society, national and regional administration as well as academia were invited to share their experiences and identify joint challenges. Various thematic roundtables enabled a structured debate on issues to be targeted in youth cooperation, such as: Common European values, Employability, Migration and Brain drain, (Social) Entrepreneurship, New Media and Digitalization, Intercultural Cooperation and Environmental issues.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the third part of the dialogue, working groups reflected on support mechanisms and networks in place to support youth cooperation in the Danube Region.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 23 March 2018, a conference \u201cYouth Engagement in the Danube Region\u201d was organized in Stuttgart, gathering partners and associates of the foundation Agapedia, as a part of the implementation of the\u00a0EU Strategy for the Danube Region.
