{"id":3161,"date":"2018-06-05T10:08:18","date_gmt":"2018-06-05T10:08:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zadecu.org\/en\/?p=3161"},"modified":"2018-06-05T10:08:18","modified_gmt":"2018-06-05T10:08:18","slug":"fourth-session-childrens-rights-council","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zadecu.org\/en\/fourth-session-childrens-rights-council\/","title":{"rendered":"The Fourth Session of the Children&#8217;s Rights Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On Friday, June 1, 2018, the fourth session of the Children&#8217;s Rights Council of the Government of the Republic of Serbia was held.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>At the meeting,<\/strong> <strong>the <\/strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unicef.rs\/\"><strong>UNICEF<\/strong><\/a><\/span><strong> representative Aleksandra Jovi\u0107 and MODS Director Sa\u0161a Stefanovi\u0107 informed the Council about an initiative to improve the measurement, monitoring and reporting on public spending on children in line with the recommendations of the Committee on the Rights of the Child.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3156\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3156\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3156\" src=\"http:\/\/zadecu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Sen-Lo-u-600x405.jpg\" alt=\"Source: Tanjug.rs\" width=\"600\" height=\"405\" srcset=\"https:\/\/zadecu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Sen-Lo-u-600x405.jpg 600w, https:\/\/zadecu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Sen-Lo-u.jpg 620w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-3156\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: Tanjug.rs<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The members of the Council also got acquainted with the Road Map for Achieving the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour, with a proposal of the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Strategy for the Prevention and Protection of Children against Violence (2018-2022). The members also got informed on the recommendations of the UN Human Rights Council in the field of children\u2019s rights after the presentation of the Report of the Republic of Serbia for the Third Cycle of the Universal Periodic Review.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3157 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/zadecu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/34092561_1662409757190360_4552952688546938880_n-600x450.jpg\" alt=\"34092561_1662409757190360_4552952688546938880_n\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/zadecu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/34092561_1662409757190360_4552952688546938880_n-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/zadecu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/34092561_1662409757190360_4552952688546938880_n-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/zadecu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/34092561_1662409757190360_4552952688546938880_n-810x608.jpg 810w, https:\/\/zadecu.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/34092561_1662409757190360_4552952688546938880_n.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>The Children&#8217;s Rights Council session was also attended by children<\/strong> and activists of <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.prijatelji-dece-srbije.com\/\">Friends of Children of Serbia<\/a><\/span>. On the International Children&#8217;s Day, the youngest members of the association Friends of Children of Serbia pointed out that violence and poverty are the most significant challenges faced by children in Serbia, and the Minister Slavica \u00d0uki\u0107 Dejanovi\u0107 pointed out that the goal is to ensure that every child has equal chances and that we cannot be completely satisfied with what has been achieved so far. The Director of the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unicef.rs\/\">UNICEF Office<\/a><\/span> in Serbia Michel Sen Lo pointed out the importance of the access to quality healthcare and education for children in Serbia, as well as doubling the allocation of funds for children with disabilities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The session of the Council reiterated that investment in children is an investment that will return to society as much as it invests in children.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday, June 1, 2018, the fourth session of the Children&#8217;s Rights Council of the Government of the Republic of Serbia was held.
