{"id":11426,"date":"2023-07-06T09:57:51","date_gmt":"2023-07-06T09:57:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zadecu.org\/?p=11426"},"modified":"2023-07-06T09:57:52","modified_gmt":"2023-07-06T09:57:52","slug":"ai-act-trilogues-the-eus-last-chance-to-protect-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zadecu.org\/en\/ai-act-trilogues-the-eus-last-chance-to-protect-children\/","title":{"rendered":"AI Act trilogues: the EU\u2019s last chance to protect children"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Eurochild<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>The European Parliament, the EU Council and the European Commission are starting interinstitutional negotiations on the Artificial Intelligence Act.<\/em>\u00a0<em>We ask EU negotiators to ensure the Act delivers on its promise to both this generation of innovators, and those to come.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As a coalition of over 2000 children\u2019s rights, parents\u2019 and mental health stakeholder organisations representing some 200 million EU children, citizens and experts,\u00a0<strong>we call on negotiators not to miss this last chance to protect children and urge the Parliament rapporteurs and the Spanish Presidency to recognise their specific rights,<\/strong>\u00a0needs and vulnerabilities, and ensure that AI in the EU is safe for them, by design and default.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The current AI Act draft falls short of protecting children and recognise their specific vulnerabilities.
